Hi!… I’m Ariela Wilcox. I’ve been a Literary Agent in Del Mar (San Diego) California for over 23 years. I am the ONLY U. S. Developer of Certification Programs with Licensing Protections for Professionals and the #1 Leverage through Licensing Expert.

I didn’t know much about the power of LEVERAGE until I was in my 40’s and began to see how some Authors leveraged a book into a powerhouse money making business through the POWER of LEVERAGE. (Think: Harv Eker- The Millionaire Mind and Robert Kiyosaki – Rich Dad Poor Dad). In publishing we call these series “franchises” (not to be confused with franchising).

Even though I chose as my practice first time authors, (For over 23 years  I’ve been the only Agent in the U.S who works only with first time authors and oversees the writing of a book and edits the first draft in 6 weeks), I always was looking for a way Clients and Authors could make EXTRA money while they wrote and launched a book, or ran a business.

I was fortunate to sit with an IP (Intellectual Property) Attorney about a calendar I had designed for women which had a business model attached to it (The Feminine Focus ®) to see how I could protect the business model. We decided that I could put it under Trade Secret law. We talked about licensing it as well. This visit gave me an idea. What if ANY IDEA, BUSINESS or SERVICE, could be licensed? I then developed a form of licensing that could be used for any SYSTEM: A Business, Service, certain Methods, Medical, or Psychological Protocols that Professionals and Business owners have developed and which could be DUPLICATED by others. I called this BUSINESS MODEL LICENSING. 23 years later I’m the # 1 U.S. Expert in Leverage through Licensing.

In addition to representing authors to Publishers, and helping Professionals and Authors set up SIGNATURE PROGRAMS with a potential of 2 – 4 STREAMS of REVENUE so that they STAND OUT in their field, I started a  division of The Wilcox Agency for the purpose of teaching Owners and Professionals how to LICENSE their Programs, Businesses or Services and bring in money WHILE they still ran their Business or Service, Medical Practice, Psychological Methods, Classes or Programs.

I DEVELOPED a CERTIFICATE or CERTIFICATION PROGRAM as a SYSTEM for CONSISTENT, STABLE INCOME for DOCTORS, THERAPISTS, and other PROFESSIONALS.

One Client sold 8 Licenses in 2 months and in only 1 ½ yrs. into licensing his coffee kiosk business he was bought by a big coffee company and is worth a LOT of money today. WHY DIDN’T ARIELA LEVERAGE for 23+ YEARS?

I, like many of you, really liked to work one on one with Authors and Clients as I could teach them many business and sales SECRETS while I worked with them and I loved the process of seeing a book come into form in just 6 weeks. And, honestly, I didn’t develop parts of what I teach today about LEVERAGE until I was about 10 years into my business.

Other parts that I have now put into my LEVERAGE and GROW RICH® SYSTEM  were not fully developed, and tested until just these last few years. A few years ago I developed a  SYSTEM I call a “COACHING NETWORK”, where Coaches, Trainers, Consultants, Drs. and Professionals, can give their information to people who want to coach with their methods. In a COACHING NETWORK SYSTEM one can make $240K per year with only 200 coaches that you LICENSE your system to. (No time on the part of those setting up a Coaching Network unless they also want to teach their methods directly). A License Agreement is given FREE to my Clients who set up a Coaching Network.

In just the past few years I recognized a NEED for CONSISTENT and STABLE INCOME for Clients. I DEVELOPED a CERTIFICATION PROGRAM for this purpose.

COMING to a PLACE of LEVERAGE

So just like you maybe, I had to come to a place where I WANTED to LEVERAGE all of my KNOWLEDGE and go from being INVISIBLE (I did my business for 23 years with NO Web Site, NO P.R., NO SOCIAL MEDIA, or outside MARKETING) to becoming VISIBLE.

My MOTIVATION to BRING the LEVERAGE and GROW RICH®  SYSTEM to the Public is

• When people LEVERAGE they MAKE MORE MONEY and are able to take care of themselves and their families better
• When people LEVERAGE they can WITHSTAND recession (or a pandemic!)

WHAT is LEVERAGE?

The most basic definition of LEVERAGE is the ability to do a lot with a little… whether  that is making money, or the use of other people to promote a business, or ADDING INCOME through one of the 7 BASIC avenues of LEVERAGE, as Kumar Praveen points out in his book How to Grow Rich with the Power of Leverage

• OPT – Other People’s TIME 
• OPW – Other People’s WORK
• OPE – Other People’s EXPERIENCE
• OPI – Other People’s IDEAS
• SCALABLE Production and Distribution

For our purposes the 2 LEAST USED of these types of LEVERAGE are:

1. OPE – Other People’s EXPERIENCE and
    
2. OPI – Other People’s IDEAS 

Many people do OPE and look for someone with experience in the field or business they are in to help them NOT waste time or make mistakes. Sometimes Professionals and Owners use Coaches to help them also get ahead faster in their business. That’s OPE. Not enough people do this though.

OPI is the LEARNING and COPYING of GOOD INCOME –PRODUCING IDEAS. This is the area of DUPLICATION of a SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MODEL or SYSTEM. LICENSING falls under OPI, as does Franchising, Network Marketing, and some Business  Opportunities.

LEVERAGED SYSTEMS are those where one make MONEY through OTHERS who join their TEAM, or selling on the Internet, where products are bought without the owner being there.

MY PERSONAL CHANGE
Bringing the Hidden Secrets of Leverage to the Public after 23+ Years of Teaching them to my Authors and Clients

I DECIDED 23+ YEARS ago that I PERSONALLY wanted to help people CREATE BUSINESSES so they, in turn, could give JOBS to OTHERS. And I DID help people in 27 DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES to LICENSE their business or service.

But over the 12+ years, since the ’07-’08 recession I could see that Americans were NO BETTER OFF in general even though the 5 indicators of the economy seem to say that we “recovered”, by 2020.

In addition I got more worried as I studied the statistics:

• 40 % of Americans make less than $40K per year
• The INCOME of most Americans in jobs has stayed the SAME or is LESS than in the 1990’s!!!
• Men 25 – 54 have opted out of the job market
• Minority unemployment is still about 6% – double what it is for whites
• Most Americans have less than $500 in their bank account for emergencies
• The Majority of BOOMERS have NOT saved enough or ANY money for retirement

Then came the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. The above stats got even worse!

One GOOD piece of news is that the # 1 GROUP STARTING BUSINESSES in the U.S. before COVID-19 were WOMEN 55 – 65!!!

These statistics moved me to do SOMETHING to HELP PEOPLE to MAKE EXTRA MONEY even if they are still working at a job; CREATE a SAFETY NET in case a HUSBAND-WIFE-PARTNER got SICK and COULDN’T WORK; or ONE or BOTH PARTNERS LOST a JOB (as many did during the COVID-19 Pandemic); and even help those who are LOOKING for WORK to consider TRANSITIONING into a LEVERAGED BUSINESS for FULL TIME MONEY and a GREAT LIFESTYLE as a NEW CAREER.

I DECIDED to do ONE THING which might make people’s life better and NOT WAIT for the Government to help people! THAT’S MY MOTIVATION!
